Cookie Timeout Option

I would like to see an option in the User Control Panel that you can set the length of time that your cookie for the New Posts search to expire.

Many times I'm getting caught up after being gone all day and I don't get to read through all the new posts before I get interrupted for a length of time. When I come back to get caught up again, there are some threads that are then marked as being read when I know I didn't read them, so I figure the cookie for New Posts must have expired.

Anyone else think this could be useful?

I end up in the same situation. I would like to see that also.

Me too.

It never fails, the phone rings just as I start to check the new traffic. Then the next time I get on I have to spend time trying to figure out where the thread got jacked and wtf everyone is talking about now.

Of course, thread jacking happens so seldom. (What, about 87% of the time?)

Heh, I just log in less often, then spend a few hours catching up.

If you can anticipate being away for a while, there's a cure.

Any chance an admin could state what this forum's Timeout for Cookie value is? Knowing is half the battle.
