HOWTO: Signal-Sounds on Dell Axim X30
Posted: Sat Nov 27, 2004 7:05 am
Since I saw so many posts floating around about people complaining they dont get sound working on their X30 I decided to register and tell you guys HOW to do it.
First of all, VB Runtime needs to be installed as it doesnt come with WM 2003 by default.
There are several versions of VB Runtime on the net. In this case it is NOT the smartest decision to get the newest!
You will not get any "Signal Quality" sounds with VB Runtime V4.
You will need V3 in that case:
As seen in some different thread, here's the link to V3:
http://webpages.charter.net/jbryant/prichard/vbruntime.zip
After having installed V3, go to SCRIPTING and enable DEFAULT Scripting.
If you want to turn off the Signal Sounds and just go with the "detection sound" turn on "No Scripting".
Hope that helped,
xxx
