Helical antenna on access point?

I am building a helical wifi antenna and would like to attach it to my linksys access point. The antenna will be on top of my shop which is ~150 meters from my house. If I have a wireless card in my pc at home with the antenna in the window, will I be able to get a connection? I know it works the other way from the card to the AP, but can I reverse the elements and still get an extended signal?
Thanks!

It's almost midnight, his wetnurse already tucked him into bed. He won't be up till 10am tomorrow bitchin' for his coffee.

Thorn, how about some nice warm, mild Farina. That'll soothe those shaken nerves.

Is Farina a coffee? I don't do that effette "mocha-choca-latte-double-soy" stuff. I grew up on stationhouse coffee: Thick as tar, old enough to vote, tougher than the patrol Sergeant on midnights.

I figured you needed some fibre.

Thorn told me some time ago, that his bodily functions, work just as well as when he was a teen:
He takes a leak at 6:30 AM, and does a dump at 7:00AM... The only problem is that these days, he doesn't wake up before 8:00 AM....
*Sigh*... There goes my inheritance...

We can't help you until you've "done the math". We've got no data to work with. You've basically said
"A train leaves point A and needs to travel ~150 meters, when will it get to point B?"
Give us some number, calculate the Fresnel zone, see if you RF LOS, how high?, do the math!
