And I say again: DID YOU DO THE MATH? Without doing that the answer is a definite "Maybe, maybe not."

After you have exhausted all resources (searching here and the web) and you really need some help, please provide enough information so someone will not have to guess what you want or what you are trying to do (should be NS related or at least wireless related).
The following information should be considered minimum.
1. What OS are you using (including installed service packs)?
2. What specific hardware (wireless) are you using?
3. Are there any errors associated with the hardware? (have you checked device manager and event viewer for errors?)
4. Are you using the vendor supplied client manager or is windows controlling things?
5. Have you installed any third party firmware or hacked the factory firmware?
6. If applicable, what firmware version are you currently using?
Note that a couple of these are M$ Windows specific and should be tailored to your specific OS.
If you are asking for help with a wireless link the following information will help.
1. Have you calcuated your link budget, SOM, fresnel zone? Many of the caclulators are available online. (please post your numbers).
2. Is the hardware you have selected compatible? In some instances mixed vendor equipment is NOT compatible! The owners manual and vendor support network can help determine this.
Also note that if you provide at least this much information someone will be more apt to provide assistance and you will be less likely to attract flames.
(unless the issue has been addressed in a past post where a SEARCH would have provided the answer!)

The poster had a legitimate question, but you guys really harshed on him. So he doesn't know anything, so what? You guys can help, but won't. This makes me sad. See? I'm sad.

My question is not about bridging the gap between the two points. I can figure out that by myself, and with the help of your tools. My question is fairly simple, but I am uneducated in this subject so I turned to the experts.
Here we go: Can I hook my homemade antenna to a Linksys access point/router, point it at another wifi card in my pc some unimportant distance away, and have it work?
I have only seen the cantennas/helicals hooked directly to a PC or notebook and never to a router. The question seems pretty silly to me and you will probably flame me for it, but I just want to make sure before I start installation.
